Persian Night is a video of the courtyard of a former caravanserai at night. The event is the lights in the courtyard being turn on at night. Historically the caravanserai use to be a secure dwelling place for caravans as they travelled through Persia, today it has been converted into the most luxurious hotel in Iran.
Even though Persian Night and Iris were made as two separate pieces of work they have often been shown together. Persian Night serves as a receiver of the Iris piece in a similar way to the apertures of the Institut du Monde Arabe are looking towards Persia. Also the event of the light made a link to the earlier piece of work View, where a similar event was investigated but this time in London.
